ATLANTA (AP) -- New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin will miss his third straight game because of a sore left knee.
Knicks coach Mike Woodson ruled Lin out for Friday night's contest against the Hawks, depriving Atlanta of a chance to get its first sampling of "Linsanity."
The team is hoping Lin will return to the lineup next week.
The Knicks have been faring just fine without him, winning eight of nine -- including the last two without Lin -- since Woodson took over as interim coach. New York holds a 2 1/2 game lead over Milwaukee for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
New York is also without forwards Amare Stoudemire (back), Jared Jeffries (right knee) and Bill Walker (left elbow).
